About Nurse Dee

Hi, I'm Nurse Dee!

I've been a nurse since 2000, when I started my nursing career as an LVN in Louisiana. After earning my RN degree, I transitioned into the ICU in 2013.

I remember what it was like making that transition into critical care—learning a new environment, caring for sicker patients, managing multiple drips, ventilators, hemodynamics, and trying to figure out what actually mattered when your patient's condition started to change.

That experience is a big part of why I created Nurse Dee's ICU Resources.

My focus is on new and transitioning ICU nurses. I create practical ICU education to help make that transition a little smoother and help nurses become more comfortable connecting what they learned in school or orientation to what they're actually seeing at the bedside.

My resources focus on building clinical judgment, recognizing changes in your patient, understanding the why behind interventions, and learning how to prioritize when there are multiple things happening at once.

I don't believe becoming a confident ICU nurse happens overnight. It comes with time, experience, asking questions, and repeatedly putting the pieces together. My goal is to give you resources that help you along the way.
